It is a true privilege and honor to represent Area G Residents at the Regional District of Nanaimo. Local Government is important work for the future of our Area and I take it seriously.
Local Government must include individuals with the ability to garner multiple perspectives, have the energy and the commitment to lead positive change and the ability to collaborate well with others. I have excelled at this in my short time as the Area G Director. Together with my community, we have solved complex issues that languished unresolved for many years, while building networks and relationships that will last a lifetime along the way.
Area G is unique and I am very proud to live here. A balanced approach for long term stakeholder benefit and the environment must be considered in every decision. There is always a kind and respectful way of proceeding on all issues.
I know how to truly engage with and listen to residents with a wide range of opinions and navigate a positive way forward on issues and opportunities.
Issues are going to come and go. No matter what the issue, objective and consistent stakeholder representation is the foundation for an effective Electoral Area Director. I have the relevant education and career experience, plus the communication and leadership skills to consult properly with residents and experts.
I moved to Englishman River in Area G in 2010 with my husband Jay as an accomplished business owner and active community leader with over 20 years of experience at senior and executive levels.

Career Experience:
I started my career working on the front-line in the non-profit sector administering subsidized housing for young families and single parents. After completing my education, I led numerous multidisciplinary teams on projects including the launch of the first-ever environmentally-compliant industrial battery for hospitals and airports; A National Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol Call Center; and launch of the first wireless point of sale gift card program across Canada through TD Bank. I have held executive positions with national and multinational distributors of Original Equipment Manufacturing Batteries and Renewable Energy Systems. As a consultant, I worked with charities to secure their funding and national companies to build their community programs.
Volunteer Accomplishments:
I have also been recognized personally as a recipient of the United Way Campaign Chair - Agency Spirit Award; recognized for raising $100,000 for the BC Lions Society for Children With Disabilities and for my contribution to fundraising for the 2022 BC Parks Foundation Community Campaign for the Eagle Sanctuary at French Creek Estuary.
And I have one favor to ask. Please share this website to help get my name out there. I am trying to reach everyone I can in this very important election. Area G is a very large and diverse geographic area with more than 8100 residents, from Nanoose Bay to Dashwood.
